Create a New Variable

1 - Access https://dashboard-v3.mxhero.com/variables
2 - click “Create” button

3 - click “Application fields” and choose your default variable (or variables).
In the following example we will cover the process for 2 picks (subject and body of the email)

You could also type the name of the variable you are looking for (or part of it) in the application field and names with a match will be shown

4 - Now, set the condition for your variable. You could pick only 1 condition here.
(Conditions includes "Contains", “Starts/Ends with”, “RegEx”, “is Equal/Different”, and Matches with dataset's key)

5 - Set the value for the condition

6 - choose your action
(You can “convert” or choose the AND condition)

7 - Set the value for your previous action
Hint: You could open braces to see a list of available placeholders for interpolation.

8 - If needed, you could add an OR condition to your variable

this will open a new frame to fill as you've done in the first step

9 - Once finished with this process, click “Save Variable” and you are all set
(don't forget to give a name to your variable, otherwise the system won't let you save it!)
You should see the new created variable in the Variables screen

Notice you have a “Testing” button to check if your variable matches correctly

In case the you have set a Regular Expresion as a condition, you also have a “Regex Tester” to try out
